I'm happy with Dropbox though - the chances are any bad stuff that happens with them will be out in the public domain pretty quick.įinally, a very quick google gets me this: If I was gonna switch to any provider, I'd probably go with Amazons.

It could be in any of amazons availability zones. In terms of the US / anyone elses anti terrorism laws, Wuala use Amazon s3, so who knows where your data is. I'm curious though, if you lose your keyfile, do you lose all of your data? or does Wuala allow you to get your keyfile again? I'm not gonna get into a flame war over this, because I don't know much about Wuala's service. I don't see any logic in you talking about "faith in their security". They allowed EVERYONE to be able to access EVERYONE ELSES FILES. One more important thing: Wuala is an EU company and it's bound by EU Data Protection Act, whereas Dropbox is an US company subject to their stupid anti terrorist law. it's virtually impossible to access your files by someone else wuala and spideroak uses different approach and allow only you to be in possession of the encryption keys. if those keys are obtained by 3rd party, all your files are in danger. dropbox stores encryption keys on Dropbox servers. You don't understand the situation at all.
