If you have any questions about responsibilities or interest in serving our town in this capacity, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Fire Department at of 284-6264. The Town of Sandwich is fortunate to have an enthusiastic, skilled, and dedicated group of individuals serving in this capacity. The Board agreed to participate in discussions with neighboring communities regarding recruitment challenges for area fire departments. We also noted ongoing delays in making audio improvements to the upstairs due to supply chain issues. The Board will work to be more diligent in making sure the backstage is cleaned up and all props removed after every production. The Board acknowledged Chase Rozelle’s willingness to volunteer his time to clean up the backstage area in the upstairs of the Town Hall. The Board signed several items including Trustees of Trust Fund reimbursement requests, AP and payroll manifests, permissions for pruning of the Town’s Eversource right-of-way lines (Highway Shed, North Sandwich Fire Station), and a three-year Contribution Assurance Program agreement capping the increase in insurance premium contributions to our insurer, Primex. The Board thanks Fred for his stewardship efforts in the Notch Park. Lavigne’s request to remove the Beede Falls sign will be taken under advisement at this time. Given the large volume of traffic that enters the Notch in route to Beede Falls, Mr. The Board approved replacement of two signs and removal of one duplicative sign. Lavigne proposed replacement and removal of several signs in the Sandwich Notch Park. Acknowledging the project’s placement on private property, the Board indicated several concerns that will require further legal research before any further activity. Lavigne requested assistance from the Highway Department in supporting a project spearheaded by the Commission on the Bearcamp River Trail. Eaton also served on the Planning Board, as a Sandwich commissioner to the Lakes Region Planning Commission and was a friend to many.Ĭonservation Commission member Fred Lavigne spoke to several topics. The Board acknowledged with sadness the passing of former Selectman and long-time Sandwich resident Toby Eaton. We are grateful for our volunteers and look forward to another thoughtful, intentional, and thorough budget planning season. Cole and Tod Campbell as new BAC members alongside former members Cathy Graham and Julie Dolan for the 2023 budget season. Geoffrey Cole introduced himself and has wide-ranging finance experience and enthusiasm for serving the Town in this capacity. The Board discussed Budget Advisory Committee membership acknowledging emails of interest from two members of the public.

The 2014 Ford Expedition (with a 2011 rebuilt engine) was living on borrowed time and is replaced by a 2022 Tahoe that comes to the Town with a 90% offset from these state grant funds. The Board began the regular meeting hosting a public hearing for acceptance and expenditure of up to $50,000 in Locality Equipment Purchase Program Funds for the much-needed replacement of the Fire Chief’s vehicle. Thank you to our staff who facilitated such success! As always, we welcome feedback and thank everyone who attended the community event! We were glad to see enthusiastic participation in all Old Home Week events and look forward to seeing everyone again next summer. We then discussed successes and opportunities for improvement to the annual Selectmen’s Picnic/Cookout held over the past weekend. We certainly are fortunate to live in a Town that has so much talent and community spirit.
